Countdown

I've been on a whirlwind tour of goodbyes and good times. Up and down the east coast and no with less than a week left I feel that I haven't got enough time to do what I wanted with the people I wanted to do them with. I'm also feelin the pressure that comes with having to pack up all your shit and move it to another country. Too much stuff to do. Either way time keeps goin and I am ready for this change. And if Scarface has taught me anything...

Late Is A Lot Better Than Never...

So a little over a year ago I posted that "hopefully" I would be writing a blog about how I got accepted into Med School. That was in October 2010. A year came and went, and in November of 2011 I was accepted into Medical School. I've never been so stoked in my life. No skate trick has come close to the feeling that happened when I got that acceptance letter. A lot of people, maybe not the people who read this but definitely the people who know me, know that I was at an extreme low for the last couple of years. My dreams and myself became stagnant and I just couldn't seem to budge scholastically or motivationally. But with the help of others, my family, friends and girlfriend, I kept going and within a year had rectified the majority of my mistakes. The school I got into is a foreign school. As much as I had aspired to go to a big name university here in the states, I realized that this was my real option (I could still go to a DO school but I would really rather go here). It's in Guadalajara, Mexico and it's as if fate had led me there through out my entire life. I'm more than excited and even more ready to leave the town that I am currently living in, Cross Lanes population circa 10,000, for Guadalajara, circa 8,000,000. But once again I'm leaving behind good times and good friends and I'll really miss them. It's always bittersweet but fuck it...gotta move on.

Bueno...Guadalajara estare contigo pronto.

JUAN CARLOS VIDAL or ñaño

This guy has been skating like Busenitz since before we knew who Busenitz was. I remember seeing him back in 96 and 99 just killin it at the Larcomar ledges. Dude is fuckin sick and I hear that he hooks up with like big time video vixens from peru too. What?!?!?!? Sounds like the good life...

Super fast, style, not the most technical out there, but so so solid. Kid rips

Dude needs to drop some more footy soon.

Cory Kennedy Pro!

Crazy. Good for him. I have a pretty opinionated stance on people going pro, but I'll give it to him. He definitely deserves it. Good luck man.

Green Lantern Review

The Green Lantern wasn't that good. In all actuality is fuckin sucked. Shits effects were retarded and often didn't match up and the dialogue really wasn't there either. Now I'm not gonna lie, I like that Ryan Reynolds guy, funny dude. But this shit sucked. The only person who was really decent in it was dude who played Hector, same fool that stole Jodie Fosters kid in that one flick. He was good. But other than that shit get two thumbs down. I should probably come up with something more apt for the site...uhm...got it. So I am gonna have to rate this movie a wayne.

So the rating is gonna go as follows.

Jay's a MUST GO!

Yeezy's a GOTTA SEE, with some hit or miss moments

NORE's entertaining but don't buy it

Drake is more tolerable than Wayne but you're embarrassed for seeing it and deep down you know he sucks balls.

Wayne is the worst. Look at him. 0 stars.

ODB... THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER!

How was he so fuckin amazing...

I'ma send you love! HAHHHAAHAHAH

Had to add this. "In Hawaii the lava alone make my dick hard."

Hahahaha

More slow mo than an Olympic track meet!

Marquis Preston B-Side

According to my homie Ted this kid not only is an awesome skater, but a bad ass ping pong player as well. His original part was amazing and these b-sides have been showing just how raw and how much work these guys put into there parts. Shit is bangin...

Ps.

They haven't given the embed code yet so just follow the link to emerica.

Sam Muller...

I met this guy once, he's a friend of a friend, seemed really cool. Initially I had no idea who he was, then my buddy was telling me how he's an intern at Transworld and that he's doing big shit. I finally got around to seeing some of his work and it was pretty fuckin amazing. You can see he had a group of rippers he followed, one of them being my buddy who's doing this insane switch ollie, and just put in work taking a lot of really great photos. You can really see his learning and transition into a seasoned and very professional photographer if you look at his uploads sequentially on the Queenpin site. Also please browse the entire site there are a lot of great photos there, especially of some Euro rippers. On his main site Sam Muller Images you can see all of his pro shit. He has some amazing photos on there and not just of skating. His portrait section was extremely impressive. So please check out the links and and when looking through a mag... take a little time to notice who's taking those photos that are dropping your jaws.

Fabian Alomar Free Lunch 2

The last part to his free lunch from shred or die. Makes you like Guy Mariano that much more.

Hilarious Theotis Ad!

This shit is too funny! But I bet none of y'all can name what the real movie the song was taken from. Either way keep goin at it Theotis. Dude is the nicest guy and has one of the most effortless styles out there. Check it out...

Everyone saw this and it is free on the nike sight so I don't feel bad about putting it up. But we all should be buying skate vids not youtubing them.

This one is too hard to find so I'ma put it up anyways... but it's a goodie...

Just saw that there was a crail couch with him that just came out. Soooo... I had to update.

Oh and here's that stripper party that they had going too...

Jordan Hoffart

This kid is good. We all remember his "Get Tricks or Die Tryin'" part. Kid gets fuckin huge. This is a good mini park part with an especially smooth big heel board. Can't wait to see more from him...

DAE WON!

Sorry that I haven't been updating as much lately. I've been on vacation and the service here are the hotel is kind of shitty. It literally took me about 20 min to watch this entire part. But if it's Daewon, then you know its fuckin amazing. He doesn't disappoint. Here's another banger full of really creative fun and goofy shit, you wish you could do, but know you can't. Thanks for keepin up the good work Daewon...

Also there is a Daniel Castillo cameo. Got me thinking bout how unbelievably psyched I am that the Chocolate video is hopefully just around the corner. How bout y'all?

Chicken Bone Nowison!!!!!

Shake Junt Smash and Grab Tour Video. It really seems like these guys not only know how to make the most of skateboarding fame, but life itself. And despite their rough exterior, these guys are some of the nicest pros I've had the opportunity to meet. Check out the videos...

WOODEN NICKELS

Everyone please check out this set of videos. Shit is sick. Highlighting many well known european skaters, some americans and of course the unbelievable euro spots they get to fuckin skate, pieces of shit. Just kidding, that's just jealousy talking. But either way, check out these vids...

Aryeh Kraus

This guy is a friend of a friend. He used to, hopefully still does, film a buddy of mine. He's really good at what he does and fucking rips it. Check out his mag minute... I'll go ahead and put it up. But here is a sick video where he put those HD pros to his legs and arms to get a new perspective, and it came out pretty sick. Check it out...

Here's his mag minute...

Aaron Suski B sides

Shit speaks for itself. Met him at the premier and he is really nice guy, which is always a plus.

Mark Baines On Wooden Nickels...

This is a surprisingly good part. I wasn't really expecting it to be this to be this good. Especially his tre flips dude is nasty with those. Anyways here it is enjoy.

Fabian Alomar Retrospective

We've seen in the recent years that skateboarding for the most part always has its arms out for its fallen sons. This guy fell about has hard as you can. And not only is it miraculous that he's back and in good form, but it's also amazing how humble and honest he is about what happened. It's nice to see a guy really put himself out there so others can really learn from his mistakes and see how easy it is to have everything taken away from you. All the best to you Fabian Alomar, wishing you all the success in the world...

Definitely check out this old school Stamina Promo, some really dope ass skating in this one. It really takes me back. The guy whose channel it is on on youtube is an ex amateur JP Jadeed. Check out his shit for a lot of Inland Empire fools from back in the 90's too.

Also be on the look out for this. I've seen clips and snippets and it seems pretty dope.

Anthony Acosta

This guy is my favorite photographer hands down. From black and white to color, and he has the best colors in all of skate photography. Still though in my opinion he's the best.

Anthony Acosta

Tomorrow at 6:30pm I'll be...

Going to California. Although it's only for a few weeks, I can't wait to see my girl, homies and skateparks, especially Chino. I miss you CA everyday and I wish I could have stayed there but well hopefully our time apart leads us back together again.

Beats, Rhymes & Life Documentary

This looks like an amazing documentary about probably one of the greatest groups in hip hop history and probably my favorite. I can't wait...

PAEBAK

PAEBAK is a friend of a friend, and a local to WV. When it comes to someone who is really getting up and doing it big, his name always comes up. His shit is always clean and his spots are always insanely visible. Kid is good and I got a lot of respect for him. I figure I should give him some coverage since his name is gettin big right now in the Mid West. So heres the big PAEBAK...

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL

I love international videos. I used to get Kingpin at the local bookstore cause it always came with a International video every issue, and shit was still only like $10. But what I like the most about Int videos is that it really shows how global skateboarding is. I mean think about it, of all the sports in the world how many of them have a global day that everybody in every nation recognizes. I can only think of one. I've had the opportunity to travel to three different continents, every one with my skateboard, and every time I have made friends and at least had a great time thanks to it alone. Matter of fact I think the majority of my friendships were, at least at one time, skateboarding based. Anyways, here is a great, and excellently filmed and edited video, from China. More than anything you can tell that the guys skating had a really fun time making it. And those spots look fuckin epic. Definitely check it out.

Auby Taylor on Mo Mondays at Bones

MO' MONDAYS - AUBY TAYLOR from BONES WHEELS on Vimeo.

Dyson Ramones

This kid skates really powerfully. I'm a huge fan of Stereo and wish they would come out with an AM vid cause man their am commercials are fucking dope. Plus their soundtracks are always super sick. I think if I had to toss up best soundtrack selection for videos, like their specific feel not what I listen to on a daily basis, it would be a toss up between them, Stereo and BLVD, aka Listen Skateboards. Either way enjoy.

WHAAAT? WU-TANG IS BACK!!!!!!!!

Billy Rohan and Quim Cardona - Wu-Tang Limited from Colin Read on Vimeo.

Damn Wu skateboards is back via Wu-Tang Limited. And starting off the team with some NY-NJ legends Billy Rohan and Quim Cardona. I am pretty stoked, collectors-wise especially.

Danny Fuenzalida...Doesn't Get Enough Props

I hope that he is still flow for nike at least. He always skates so good and on weird spots with weird and super stylish tricks. I wish there was more coverage of him. Either way this is a new snippet of him at a DIY spot...

DGK Mixtape

I'm not gonna lie, I can't really speak much for some of the music on here. I never liked Peedi Crack or Corry Gunz and just so everybody knows I absolutely can't stand this dude...

Matter of fact I just plain out despise anyone from young money, except Nicki Minaj's amazingly beautiful ass. But other fools like Mobb Deep, Wale, Bun B and one of my newer favorite artists Freddy Gibbs are definitely gonna show out on here.

Tracks that stuck out:

Scottie Pippens is the shit. Super hard beat reminds me of some experimental gravediggaz or killarmy, mixed up with some newer production techniques. Must Go Hard is ridiculous. I have always been a fan of Mobb Deep since way back and hearing them on a track that is kind of Kanye-esque is fuckin sweet. Sort of reminded me of the Dear Summer track from Jayz or Memph Bleek, however you wanna look at it. But either way you couldn't go wrong with that type of combo. Bottles Go Bang is probably the dopest NORE track to come out in a decade. He should stick to that formula cause it is mad nice. The other track that really stuck out is Martial law by L.C.O.B. The track had a nice raw beat and the rhymes were decent. Now was it me or did dude sound like the guy from B-Boy Document the High and Mighty track from back in '99.

Overall I'd give the mixtape a 7 out 10:

Mainly because of the use of too many Young Money tracks. I don't give a shit if they are popular or if Jesus himself has them playing all day in his ride, in my mind they suck dick. PERIOD. Secondly it's a mixtape yet there was a large lack of mixing. I mean as a DJ myself I know how tedious it can be to try and create on every track something new and catchy. But I really can't stand the explosion transition on every track on here. If I could talk to DJ Fu I would tell him to look to some J. Period.

Patrick Martinez...Upping

This kid had a solo show a bit ago at Known Gallery, which in my opinion is probably the best at recognizing raw talent from up and coming graff and urban artist, and deserves an up. So I figure I'll post up the link to his website and let you all check him out. He's fuckin dope and a super humble nice dude. Please check him out and support.

Patrick Martinez

Aaron "Jaws" Homoki...Does Not Get Enough Recognition

This is what everyone is watching...

but they should also see this...

and...

I mean dude does huge shit and fuckin 540s in some concrete tranny. Now I won't say kid has Marc Johnson like style or anything but I am not gonna say that he isn't good. I think he has that birdhouse curse and I don't know what it is but, fools on birdhouse just don't get enough credit. Look at Steve Nesser for fucks sake. Anyways enjoy.

DAMN!!!!!

I really like just running into people who are just doing some weird shit and this Wais kid, from Russia, is doin it. I really really dig his shit.

Some new El Mac pieces...

This is a piece titled "Inspired." Its a piece with Kofie that he did in LA. Hope I get to see it while I'm out there. On the disappointing side of the spectrum, El Mac was featured in a show that ended last weekend called "New Masters" at Subliminal Projects on Sunset. I don't know how many pieces he had in the show but the piece that he posted on his blog "The Prayer" is fuckin ridiculous.

Emerica B-sides

They're just fucking awesome. I haven't bought the Stay Gold DVD yet but I am heading out to Cali in like 3 days so I'm gonna cop it there.

I'd have to say that the Hsu, Westgate and Provost ones are my favorites. Those dude just go for it so fuckin hard it's really insane.

It's Been Along Time...2

Ok so now its been some 8 months since I've put up anything. Since then I have finished up all of the requirements for Medical School and am now trying to get a little bit of a better score on my MCAT to assure my acceptance, which will hopefully be this coming summer and or following fall. Other than that I went to South America, gained 15 pounds, lost it, took up golf full swing and have slowed down the pace of my life a good bit when it comes to skating, but I'm gonna get back on it. But I can finally see myself approaching some much needed new adventures in life so that is good. Just gotta stick with it.
